A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Well, the long weekend has not ended for me yet. Infact it has been pretty long for me. I was off on Friday and am off today (Tuesday) also. So it has been a great fun.
Did lots of fun & masti...went go carting, watched movies, went to see the St. Louis fair and the fireworks.

Today I have been sitting at home lazing...which ofcourse is fun.

Another thing that happened is that I got allergic from something and my right hand got a rash. Now I am not sure yet what exactly I got allergic from, but it seems to be something in the kitchen, because everytime I cook, it gets worse. So the only good thing out of this allergy is that I have gotten a break from cooking.....yeeaaahh. Well, not really, coz' I still end up cooking something or the other and then ofcourse my hubby gets all mad at me.

News is that Aamir Khan & Sharukh Khan (as Karan & Arjun)are coming together for the first time in "The Mahabharta". The total budget for this venture is estimated to be around Rs. 300 crore!!! Rani is the main heroine in the movie playing the role of Draupadi. This sure is going to be interesting and many eyes around the globe are set to know the release date of the movie.

I watched Parineeta and B&B. Both were good to watch though I loved Parineeta. It's a very well acted and well directed movie. As far as B&B is concerned, as long as you don't start looking for logic behind every scene, it's a fun 2 hrs watch.

I m not too sure if i really want to see these stars enacting the Mahabharata. Anyways, I feel that BR Chopra did a wonderful job in the television series. It is still fresh in public memory; re-doing the epic is a waste of the money and these talented stars!

Moreover, Mahabharat is so vast that ek movie mein kahan samayega? Plus, seeing the names, I guess some unnecessary controversies will surely erupt.

Take care about the hand ; prob, its not a kitchen ingredient , but the heat there that aggravates the rash ... ok ok , i m not snatching away ur cooking ki holiday ;-)

Did not like BandB and found Parineeta okayish.

BTW, did u get time to read The Riot? Wud luv to hear ur views on that too...link on my blog's right hand side.

the fireworks here were also great. i am glad to see that you have enjoyed the long weekend. :)

hmm..i saw a pic of srk too for mahabharata. it will be interesting if it will be made and how it will be made...if they have to take some parts out to ensure that the movie isn't too long..

i haven't seen any of the new movies....will watch them with neeraj once he comes. :)

Rs 300 crore is quite a amount for a movie , Mahabharata .. yeah i dont think they need to spend so much for this and DJ rightly said BR chopra's is still fresh and was very well made.

uuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiii rash ,.u take care Mannat... and better not cook at all :)

i liked both B&B and Parineeta , B&B fun to watch , no sense movie but yet entertaining. Parineeta is good , liked the acting of new girl and ofcourse Saif is improving with every movie, this guy gotta potential .

"Guess who am I", I have no clue who are you:) Thanks, I hope too that my hand feels better soon.

DJ...I agree, putting all the Mahabharta in 3 hrs would be hard...that's why it would be interesting to watch. I think they would just pick one biiig event from the epic and revolve the movie around that...let's see how it goes. I am excited to see Shahrukh & Aamir together for the first time.
The hand rash is because of the cooking...even if it's not, I have made everyone believe that it is. So you better not try to get some other ideas in the minds of ppl:) I am enjoying the cooking holiday...and I want it to continue for few more days:)
I would definitely read "The Riot". These days I am suffering from insomnia...so it would make a good late night reading for me:)Will definitely let you know once I am done reading.

Poonam...I am glad that you enjoyed the fireworks. I sure did have a great time. My sister had come over so it was all fun fun fun.
Yes, it would be interesting to watch.
I am sure you wanna wait for Neeraj and then watch all the movies together. How exciting, na?

Govind...it sure is going to be a big venture. Like I said, all the eyes of movie lovers are set on that movie now:)
Do watch Parineeta...it's a good movie.

Vivek...Thanks...but it's still not better. I will be getting allergy tests done to find out what exactly I am allergic to.
Yeah, 300 crore seems to be too much....I am sure they will have some nice sets in the movie.

Manish...yeah, the BR Chopra's Mahabharta is still fresh in mind, still it would be interesting to see what this movie is going to be like. I am definitely looking forward to it.
Cooking...the word is out of my house these days...so lemme know if anyone wants to invite me and my hubby over for dinner:)
I liked the acting of that new girl too (Vidhya???)... she sure has the potential to be a good actress!

    Hey Mannat!
Thanks for dropping by moi blog.

I cant even imagine SRK and Amir as charcters of Mahabharata! And 300 crores for a 3 hour film.. thats just ridiculous!!! Who ever has that kind of money should spend it on people of "bharat" help poverty n infrastructure etc. etc.. What do you reckon?

Hope ur felling better for this weekend! :D

    Take care of urself!

Vicky...thanks for dropping by. I have heard that Sarkar is a good movie and I will watch it once it's out on the DVD. So far I have been getting only good reviews about this movie.

Nupur...thanks, yes, I am feeling better.
I agree with you...there's a lot more that could/should be done with all this money. But unfortunately a lot of money is wasted in useless efforts...which helps noone (not even the person who wated all that money).
Hope you have a good weekend too. I have great plans for the weekend so am all excited:)
