Have any problems???

I don't know if it has been happening in India, but here in US, lately there is a new group of (???) that recently emerged out of no where.
If you are watching Zee TV here, you know exactly what I am talking about. Peer Sayeed Sahib, Baba something something...I can't even remember the names.... but there are bunch of such crooks out there who have found a new strategy to fool people here in US. Some of them are even becoming sole sponsors of some shows - I think Peer Sayeed sponsors ‘Kareena Kareena’. All these people claim to bring an end to your worries - some claim to do this within 24 hrs - GAURANTEED!!!! The worries could be of any kind - martial problems, business problems, kids giving hard time to their parents (no joke!), could not marry someone you love (huh) - they have answer to each & every problem - u name it, and they have the solution. How insane is that?
The sad part is, that I am sure, there must be people who are getting fooled by this entire hoax. Now I don't know about others, but I really think that what they are doing is so lame. All I could say is that they need to get a life and that Zee TV needs to stop telecasting such ads. And the funny part it, that these people have so much money, that every other day they have a new ad.... so I believe that people are actually believing what they are saying and contacting them!
Whom are they really fooling???

    My family has had Zee TV and all for atleast four years and since then we have been watching these stupid commercials of Peer Sayed Sahib and Ajmeri Baba and Pundit Maharaj..and the list goes on. They are a scam..pakka scam and what makes it even more of a scam is that all three of them are sitting in London! Why would anybody that is in America call some guy that claims to be an astrologer or whatever and make a call to London!! Its so idiotic! But i guess people do it becuz even i have noticed the new ads and also that they are now sponsoring. They have made a business out of it, and out of sheer luck its working. People will do ANYTHING when they down/depressed or just plain desperate. Good post Mannat!!

    Poonam...ya, even I have been watching these ads in the past years - but I think lately there are too many of these. I could hardly remember if there were such ads 2-3 years back. And you are right - all of them are in London. But you know they give the phone nos. and then get your 'problems resolved' over the phone (jet age!) and they take your credit card # for payment. All I could say is that if people are really believing them (which I am sure many of them are), then there is a serious problem somewhere!

    I guess it's a question of demand and supply. As the rush life of people continues, they try to find a quick fix solution, and these hoax babas and sadhus and godmen step in to alleviate the problems and stress and what nots!

    I guess more than Zee TV, its the people who flock to them that are responsible for this widespread. Expecting Zee to stop advts is an utopian dream; after all, its a commercial venture (and not really that high on success graph) so they will try to make money anywhich way!

    Great post Mannat.
    I hope awarenes can be spread about this stuff going on....

    I agree with Deepak's view and want to add that it's not easy to have anyone get over any of this....

    All this is coming down from culture, people believing in things that don't exist and following superstitions and getting impractical and spending time becoming followers of other people rather than establishing their own identity.

    Anyhow, back to the point, I wonder what can we do to find out what is all this doing !

    Deepak - thanks for visiting my blog. I agree that Zee TV is not the only one responsible for this. It’s the ignorance of people who believe in such hoax. I guess this is so widespread now, that there is no end to it. Even well educated people get trapped in all this at times. It's sad, but just another fact of life!
    Mohan...you are right. This all has been so badly incorporated in our culture, that it's hard to educate the people that this is nothing but another way of making money for these people who have nothing better to do.
    Manpreet...ha ha ha..I won't be shocked. Let me know when you start this, I'll send some business to you;)

    These Babas n Pundits sponsor all the major programs :|. Today Zee TV was announcing "Double Mazaa brought to you by Pundit Maharaj". I cudn't stop laughing at that.

    These commercials were aired w/o any restrictions b4, but then I guess someon sued Zee USA for stating stuff like "100% Gaurantee"...etc, so they didn't air them for a month or 2 (arnd mid '04) but after few weeks these commercials resurfaced with a legal disclaimer @ the end of the commercial.

    I agree w/ Deepak as, there is no reason that these guys spend so much money on all these commercials. They would have been making 2-3 folds the amount they spend on these commercials. BTW all those concert Ads are also followed by the disclaimer as they also mis-represent the event.

    BTW do you people realize that its not only us "Desi" people who give into these false gurus. If any of you live in the US then you would be familiar with the infamous Miss Cleo and her tarrot card scam which stormed America a few years ago. Anyway my point is that throughout history man has seeked gurus and healers to solve all his problems. Every religion and culture has such people who will give false hope and promises to make a few bucks. It is truly a shame that man will go to such extents in order to squeeze a a dime from his fellow man.

    yeah, i agree with you completely. We've been viewing these ads for quite a long time, but might I express a different prospective:

    My immediate family and friends and such, we all find it hilarious how these ads use the peoples families and how the voices change and all, every summer some friends and I call each of these "black-magic ridders" and leave messages that range from humorous to completely outright weird, yes, I understand that many people have been tricked into giving money and posessions to these crooks, but I actually, by default perhaps, have very enjoyable memories situated with those ads, and I'm not at all saying that they're right, but yeah... it's a different perspective.

    Yeah, I'm thinking about calling Ajmeri Baba to complain about Peer Sayed Sahib and Pundit Maharaj and how they are ruining my pleasant evenings watching Zee at home! They say its 100% guaranteed, right? Let's see what the Baba does about this :) Maybe they can start an advertising slander war like how its done between politicians in the US during election times.

    Baba can have an ad like: "Peer Syed Sahib says that he can solve your problems in 72 hours, but last year he took 80 hours! Would you trust him?" . I think I would watch more Zee if they had this type of advertising. Haha!

    1. I am a software professional living in US for 3 years. I have been trying unsuccessfully to get someone to file for my Green Card. Everyone said that maybe it is not destined. But I really wanted to live here and have my family here. I was distressed, and one day I saw Ajmeri Baba’s TV ad and called him at 011447779137810. In depressed state, I thought of giving him a call just to do time pass. It seemed to me that he already knew my problem. He told me that he knows what’s troubling me and of course, he can help. I was critical and did not believe him. But, when I was spending so much on the status etc., I decided to give it a shot too… I could not believe when within a week, my employer told me that he could think about filing for my Green card. Now, I case is already processed and now we are looking for a house for buying. My kids will be able to go to school in US and will have a better life. I cannot finish thanking Ajmeri baba.

    I have been living here for 2 years now. I am a student and will have to be here for another year. I recently came to know through a common friend that my Girl friend in India has been seeing someone else. I don’t blame her – she is all alone there and I have not even visited India for 2 years.     My son was a brilliant boy. He has been one of the most intelligent boy in the class and a very obedient son. For the last few months, he stopped taking interest in studies. I started getting complaints from his school that he has been picking up fights with other students and got a warning from the school that they will expel my son because they feared he might get involved in a violent attack on his co-students.     8. I have made my fortune in business. I have always been a business man – by heart and soul. I started from the scratch and created a reasonably big business. If anyone has been effected by them, I recommend you go and find a true Pir-o-Murshid like Shaykh Nazim , Hadhrat Khwaja Sardar Ahmed Naqshbandi (www.zikr.co.uk), Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat Maulana Ilyas Attar Qadri (www.dawateislami.net) or others.

    Ajmeri baba is a fake and a fraud. I called him to solve a problem and he ripped me off with two thousand eight hundred dollars. He did not do anything for me when i called him back after a week he wanted me send him another four thousand dollars. When i said i could not afford that kind of money he slammed the phone on me. I think it is very wrong for magizines to put an advert on his behalf as desperate inisant people are being conned by him. He should be put in jail.

    pundit ji maharaj rpiied me off big time 3,500 canadian doller.i called pundit ji when i was going through really bad time .he asked me 300 canadian doller and i payed him by western union .than he took all my info and called me a week later and said i have to do this special pooja which will cost about 3200 doller .i was in a really bad time had no money my brain was not working at all .i payed him all 3200 doller in 5 installments .and he said every thing will be fine . 3 weeks later he called me and said he did [pooja kidoff thing and every thing is ok now you will see result soon..than week later he called me and said someone is trying to kill one of my family member by manter kindoff think and he need to do another pooja .which will cost me about 6300 doller .and i need to send that money to somebody els name whom he was going to buy pooja ingredients.i was olready in a trouble paid him 3500 doller nothing changed now he needs more this was never gona end .i steped back and said i have no money.he was very upset at me and yelling at me .he warned me for so many things scared me to death of me and my family members .but i had made up my mind and learned hard way .5 years have gone by and the only thing that i really beleave is god almighty.everything is fine.folks think before you do anything.good and bad times this is life .thats the way it is .it will nevwr chang by paying anybody any amount of money.     I think somebody should really have these guys reported. I already lost 300 dollars and was comtemplating about the 2860/- to be sent by western union and decided to google this and alas! thank God I did. Only God knows and can help us. This has reiterated my faith inGod.
